This dramatic speed improvement was made possible by ActiveState's PerlEx pre-compiler. Rather than requiring the Easy CGI Control Panel code to compile on each execution or page load, a pre-compiled image of the Control Panel is loaded into memory. Using PerlEx, user executions are not subject to compilation time, and are much faster due to this "in memory" runtime execution. The end result is an improvement in page load time of about 500%, helping enhance the overall customer experience.
